King Tours and Limousine Service Inc. (operating as King Shuttle) is committed to preventing occupational illness and injury in the workplace.(1)

In fulfilling this commitment, we will provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment (2) as indicated by acceptable industry practices and compliance with legislative requirements.(3) We will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in fires, security losses, damage to property and personal injuries/illnesses.

King Tours & Limousine Service Inc. will make every reasonable effort to provide suitable return to work opportunities for every employee who is unable to perform his or her regular duties following a work-related injury or illness. (4)

Accidental loss can be controlled through good management in combination with active employee involvement. Loss prevention is the direct responsibility of all managers and employees alike. All management (including senior management, middle management and supervisors) functions will comply with King Tours & Limousine Service Inc. loss prevention requirements.

Managers are accountable for the health & safety of the employees under their supervision. All employees and contractors are responsible to ensure that the vehicles, machinery and equipment are in proper working order and that they are trained to do so. Any deficiencies must be reported to Management immediately.(5)

All employees will receive training on their job functions including how to perform their jobs safely in accordance with legislative requirements and our Safe Work Procedures/Practices.(6)

Every employee including contractors must comply with the Safe Work procedures / practices and are required to report any incidents / injuries / property damage immediately.(7)

King Tours & Limousine Service Inc. is a non-union employer. We feel we do not need a third party involved in the management of our business. Our mangers, supervisors and employee body at large mature and we feel that through open communication, each party’s concerns can be addressed.

Each of you, as an individual, has a right and responsibility to speak for yourself. Therefore, we encourage you to bring your concerns or problems to your supervisor or manager. It is their responsibility to listen and address these concerns.

It is Company policy that every employee is entitled to employment free or of sexual or any other form of harassment. NON-DISCRIMINATION

Employees and employers are free to form and join associations for protection of their interests
and to bargain collectively – they will not be compelled. We will engage with such collective
bargaining forums within the framework of national laws.

FAIR LABOUR PRACTICES
We will not subject our employees to forced labour. We adhere to internationally recognized
practices and principles regarding the employment of young persons imposed by local legislation.
No children under the age of 16 will be employed. Employees will have reasonable freedom of
movement. Termination of an employees’ services will conform with requirements of lawfulness
and fairness, and subject to the prescripts of local legislation.
UNDERLYING POLICIES
This policy reinforces our existing policies, processes and activities that support our human rights
values and commitments, which include specific policies on labour relations, corporate
governance, ethical conduct, social responsibility, stakeholder involvement and security.

It is company policy that we can offer employment opportunities without regard of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex marital status or physical handicap. This policy applies to recruiting, hiring, promotions, upgrading, lay offs, compensation, benefits, terminations and all other privileges, term and conditions of employment.

The Company makes every reasonable effort to minimize risks associated with its operations and productive workplace. The Company recognizes that use of illicit drugs and the inappropriate use of alcohol, medications or other substances can have serious adverse effects on the safety and well-being of the public, customers, employees, contractors, and employees of contractors.

The Company, therefore, has a policy that while on King Tours & Limousine Service premises, operating a Company’s motor vehicle or while conducting business related activities of King Tours & Limousine Service, no employee, contractor or employee of a contractor can have or may use, possess, distribute, sell or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. The violation of the policy is grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or of a contract. Employees and contractors whose responsibilities involve the operation of highway equipment are required to participate in an alcohol and drug testing program. Conditions of the program are outlined in a separate policy/ procedure on the subject.

 

King Tours and Limousine Service Inc has a strict 100% smoking free policy.  Employees are not permitted to smoke in the office or in King Tours and Limousine vehicles at any time.

Personal Leaves

The Company recognizes that there may be personal situations during which the employee wishes to temporarily leave the Company, but with the intention of returning, i.e. travel, education, family illness, etc. In cases of this nature, the employee may request. In cases of this nature, the employee may request a leave of absence without pay. The granting of leave of absence shall be based on the urgency of the circumstances, previous time off, and the employee’s performance record.

Employees who are ready to return on schedule from leave of absence shall be given consideration for their previous job or, if it is no longer available, for an open position they are qualified to perform. The Company does not, however, guarantee that the employee will be re-employed.

Bereavement Leave

Employees are eligible for bereavement leave in the event of the death of a member of their immediate family. This leave can be for up to 3 days immediately following the day of the death.

The immediate family consists of an employee’s spouse, parent, grandparent, child, sister, brother, father-in-law or mother-in-law, any relative permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee resides.

If the employee has completed three (3) consecutive months of employment, this leave shall be with pay.

King Tours and Limousine Service Inc (operating as King Shuttle) is in an industry that has a significantly negative impact to the environment. King is committed to reducing that impact by adopting environmentally friendly practices that reduce greenhouse gasses, conserve energy, reduce waste, conserve water, and to overall reduce pollution. It is our priority to encourage our customers, suppliers and all business associates to do the same.  Not only is this sound commercial sense for all; it is also a matter of delivering on our duty of care towards future generations.

  • Be Carbon Neutral for 2018 and beyond.
  • Minimise our waste and then reuse or recycle as much of it as possible.
  • Adhere to our Green Office policy
  • Wholly support and comply with or exceed the requirements of current environmental legislation and codes of practice.
  • Minimise energy and water usage in our building, vehicles and processes in order to conserve supplies, and minimize our consumption of natural resources, especially where they are non-renewable.
  • Maintain company vehicles on a regular basis as to minimize pollution and negative impact to the environment.
  • Operate our vehicles in a manner that does not negatively impact the environment.  This includes, limiting vehicle idle times to 1 minute, eliminating cold starts, and accelerating in an appropriate steady manner.
  • Apply the principles of continuous improvement in respect of air, water, noise and light pollution from our premises and reduce any impacts from our operations on the environment and local community.
  • As far as possible purchase products and services that do the least damage to the environment and encourage others to do the same.
  • When researching and purchasing new vehicle, make a conscious effort to access the economic cost as well as the environmental cost of the vehicle.
